STAND FOR JESUS CHRIST

Bishop Eddie L. Long Tapped for Kick-Off Event to

Unite Atlanta as “A City of One”

ATLANTA (September 2, 2007) - On Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 10:30 am, Atlanta youth will join the STAND Campaign and Bishop Eddie Long in a unifying and awareness rally to promote Jesus Christ through love, evangelism and community service. Featured participants include Radio-One’s CoCo Brother of Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 and The Spirit of Hip Hop (SOHH), a syndicated radio show which bridges the love of God with the love of hip-hop. The event and live broadcast will take place at New Birth Cathedral in Lithonia, Ga.

Youth groups and youth pastors from across metro-Atlanta will convene to join the campaign by pledging a STAND on the teachings and beliefs of Jesus Christ by upholding the attributes; truth, justice, purity and righteousness. “We can be positive and do good all day, but good without God just doesn't count,” Corey “ CoCo Brother” Condrey, host of The Spirit of Hip Hop, stated. 

Attendance for this groundbreaking event is expected to be approximately 15,000 based on previous events hosted by The Spirit of Hip Hop and the growing anticipation of STAND 2007 among Atlanta youth waiting for a change and a call to action. Condrey added, “I believe that God has called for a city full of kids and youth to STAND and be on fire for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

During the event, attendees will pledge their commitment to return to their schools, social circles, employment and neighborhoods empowered with a new message that will draw believers and non-believers towards a new life. “The way you change the world is by touching one person at a time. It is so important that parents, community leaders, teachers and youth pastors connect with our youth of today and let them know that there is hope in Christ Jesus. Stand and Be the Standard!” continued Condrey.

STAND 2007’s Atlanta kick-off is the prelude to a multi-city national tour that will visit Dallas, Detroit, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C.
